Publication ethics

The editorial board guarantees compliance with

  • ethics of publishing scientific publications;
  • ethics of authorship of scientific publications;
  • ethics of reviewing scientific publications;
  • ethics of editing scientific publications.

ETHICS OF SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS
Editorial Board:

1. guarantees consideration of all materials submitted for publication, observance of editorial independence and good faith in making objective decisions without prejudice to the authors, based on its policy of respect for the personal rights of the author and intellectual property rights;

2. establishes the relevance, importance, clarity, reliability, and validity of the scientific and research material to be published as the guiding principles of editorial activity;
3. the basic principles of high quality of published research materials include
• thoroughness: the published research results should be performed qualitatively and in accordance with ethical standards; the authors are collectively responsible for their work and the content of the publication;
• honesty: the authors must present the results honestly, without falsification or unfair manipulation of data;
• unambiguity: the publication should provide sufficient information to allow other researchers to repeat the experiments;
• completeness of the presented materials: the review and conclusions from existing studies should be complete, balanced and should include information regardless of whether they support the hypotheses and interpretations of the author of the publication or not;
• balance: the results of a new study should be presented in the context of the results of previous studies;
• originality: the authors guarantee that the work proposed for publication is original and has not been previously published anywhere in any language; the work cannot be submitted to several publications at the same time;

5. pursues a policy of including highly qualified members of the editorial board and editorial staff who actively contribute to the development of the journal;

6. makes a decision on acceptance or rejection of the article for publication based on all comments of independent reviewers as a whole. The final editorial decision and the reasons for it are communicated to the authors.

ETHICS OF AUTHORSHIP OF SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS

Publication authors:

1. should ensure that the list of authors includes only persons who meet the criteria for authorship (i.e., persons who have made a significant contribution to the work) and that deserving researchers are not excluded from the list of authors;

2. should have a good knowledge of the work submitted for publication and ensure that this work meets the above requirements;

3. should work together with editors or publishers to correct their work as soon as possible in case of errors or omissions after publication;

4. are obliged to notify immediately in case of detection of an error in any work submitted for publication, accepted for publication or already published;

5. are not allowed to copy from other publications references to works that they have not familiarized themselves with; citations and references to other works must be accurate and executed in accordance with the established requirements;

6. should refer in the most correct and accurate way possible to previous works relevant to the publication, both by other researchers and by the authors themselves (word-for-word reproduction of their own works and their paraphrasing are unacceptable, they can only be used as a basis for new conclusions);

7. it is necessary to indicate the authorship of data, text, figures and ideas that the author received from other sources - they should not be presented as belonging to the author of the publication; direct quotes from the works of other researchers should be highlighted with quotation marks and the appropriate reference;

8. the norms of copyright legislation must be observed; copyrighted materials (for example, tables, figures or large quotations) may be reproduced only with the permission of their owners.

ETHICS OF REVIEWING SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS

1. The Editorial Board guarantees an independent review of materials in a manner that ensures honesty and objectivity of the opinion on the scientific value of the article intended for publication.

2. The Editorial Board guarantees to ensure a fair and proper peer review process.

3. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the material without an independent review if it is found to be of low quality or inappropriate to the subject matter.

4. If the reviewers raise questions about the reliability of the data or the appropriateness of publishing a scientific paper, the Editorial Board provides the author with the opportunity to answer the questions.

5.  When submitting for review, the Editorial Board ensures the confidentiality of the authors' material and informs the reviewers of the need to maintain such confidentiality.

6. The Editorial Board keeps the personal data of reviewers confidential.

ETHICS OF EDITING SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS

1. The Editorial Board makes decisions on the acceptance or rejection of publications, which puts forward special requirements for the honesty and objectivity of this process and its correspondence to the scientific vision of the collection.

2. The information materials for the authors of the articles contain the requirements for them, as well as the procedure for processing the submitted materials.

3. In order to ensure the accuracy of the published information, it is possible to make appropriate amendments or correct errors as soon as possible. If a mistake makes the work or a significant part of it invalid, the article will be withdrawn with an indication of the reason (for example, a doubtful mistake).

4. Upon completion of the review of the submitted materials, the Editorial Board makes a decision with a corresponding comment.

5. The Editorial Board are obliged to respond to all allegations or suspicions of misconduct in relation to the research or publication that come from readers, reviewers or other editors.

6. The editors undertake to provide the authors with a list of proposed requirements. Editors work in accordance with the identity assurance system.

7. The editors accept information about the identified problems and decide to withdraw the article.

8. Conflicts of interest between the editor and the author must be declared publicly. Editors should not make decisions on materials with which they have a conflict of interest.
